Astronomy in Action is coming to Ottawa with our incredible portable planetarium! Reconnect to the universe in the largest portable planetarium in North America! Watch the sky come alive as our 4K digital projection system fills the entire dome with stunning views from across the cosmos!

Enter the planetarium to see a truly unbelievable show!
Explore the stunning Northern Lights, learn about the upcoming solar eclipse, and visit the largest black hole in the known universe. This show treats you to the most amazing phenomena the universe has to offer, accompanied by a breathtaking soundtrack. Spectacular stars explode, asteroids collide with Earth, and the largest rocket ever launched heads to the Moon, all in this one amazing experience!

RUNTIME 50 MINUTES - recommended ages 5+
The classic planetarium experience for groups! Explore the night sky, ask questions, participate, and learn as you venture among the stars! Note that each show time has room for two groups of up to 30.
Show Times: 10am, 11am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, & 2:30pm
Each group booking includes amazing Space Badges for all participants!

What is a planetarium?
A planetarium is a 360-degree space theatre, where the entire sky becomes the movie screen. The experience feels 3D, similar to VR, but without the VR glasses. Using the digital system allows the audience to fly anywhere in the universe!
Will I get dizzy / motion sickness?
Most likely no, especially since we start our programs with some simpler animations to ease into the experience. It’s very different than wearing VR glasses and is similar to an IMAX theatre.
Is the dome accessible?
The dome can accommodate all sizes of wheelchairs and mobility devices. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us and we would be happy to ensure you have a positive experience. Note that we are working to improve our accessibility standards, but currently do not have captioning available in shows.
What type of seating is in the dome?
Tickets to The Unbelievable Universe and The Great Cosmic Journey include a spot on our amazing and comfy inflatable seating. It forms a ring around the outer edge of the dome and places guests at the perfect angle for observing the sky. Seating for What Is In The Sky? is informal and guests will be seated on the ground. Parents are welcome to hold their child, have them sit in their lap, or have them sit next to them - whichever works best for you!
Where is the event taking place?
After purchasing tickets, you will receive a confirmation with all the necessary information about the venue, along with some additional details. This email will be separate from your electronic receipt. Please check your Spam/Junk folder if you do not see it immediately after purchasing. You will receive additional reminder emails one week before the show and one day before the show.
Are shows only for kids / families?
Although the planetarium is a great place for kids to learn about space, our motto is “Space for Everyone!” A planetarium provides a venue for entertainment and education for all ages and knowledge levels. Teens and adults will learn and enjoy the wonders of the universe as much as kids will!
Can I take pictures during the show?
Yes, you can! We want you to remember this incredible experience. The best tip we can offer is to turn your camera’s flash off so you don’t surprise everyone and ruin your photos.
Can my child attend the show alone?
No, all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult to attend one of our programs. Each ticket for What Is In The Sky? includes admission for one parent to accompany their child in the show.
Are younger children welcome?
Yes, children of any age are welcome to attend. Please note we cannot accommodate strollers within the dome, as they can block exits and create tripping hazards. You are welcome to leave a stroller safely outside the dome.
